A repeatable publishing path

Add a project

This wiki is a static HTML site. Keep project pages self-contained, use the existing visual system, and list published sections on the home page and in the shared sidebar.

Project page structure

  1. Create a project directory under dist/projects/<slug>/ and put its landing page at index.html.
  2. Start from the reusable project template. Copy only sections supported by the source material; remove empty sections before publishing.
  3. Keep source-specific images and downloads alongside the project under dist/projects/<slug>/assets/. Use relative links and descriptive alt text.
  4. Record the source repository and a verification date when the page includes operational facts. Label historical guidance and don't present it as current.

Update navigation

Add a concise project card to the Projects section in dist/index.html, then add a matching project link to the shared sidebar of the project page. For shared infrastructure, add a topic page under dist/infrastructure/ and link it from the homepage's Infrastructure section.

Preview changes

Run make preview in the repository, then open the local preview URL printed by the command. Check the changed page, all its local links, code blocks and any media. Verify the narrow layout by reducing the browser width. The generated site is the contents of dist/.

Publish

Commit and push the source to the Site's configured main branch. Package the static output with the Sites source workflow, save a version, and deploy that saved version using the matching private/public operation for the existing site's audience. Confirm the returned deployment URL and check the homepage and the new project page.

Keep the listing easy to maintain

The homepage and the shared project sidebar are the project index. Add a page only when there is useful documentation for it; don't create empty categories.

Template sections

The template covers overview, setup, configuration, usage, troubleshooting, and references. Delete sections without verified content instead of publishing placeholders.
